Кирилл Белоцерковский, альпинист

Hi. I’m Kirill Belotserkovskiy, a climber from Almaty, Kazakhstan. Since spring 2014, I’ve bolted or repaired over 200 routes at Tamgaly-Tas. If you want to talk about donations, feel free to reach out:

There’s plenty of rock out there—what we’re short on is gear. All the consumables—drill bits, bolts, glue—I buy with donations from regular climbers, people like you. A donation is your way to be part of building new routes. Without you, none of this happens.

Here’s what we’ve done in recent years:

Spring 2026 — 7 routes at Picnic (new sector) and 5 at Gorod, grades 5a to 7b
Spring 2025 — 12 routes at Utrenniy (new sector) and Prigorod, 5a to 7a
Autumn 2024 — 5 routes at Lev and Prigorod, 5b to 7a
Autumn 2023 — 11 routes at Zerkala, 6a to 7c
Spring 2023 — 6 routes at Salkyn, 6b–7b and 13 routes at Canyon, 5a–6b
Spring 2022 — Vecherniy, 8 routes, 6b–7b+
Autumn 2021 — Enbek, 14 routes, 5b–7b
Autumn 2019 — Zub, 4 routes, 6a–6b+

And so on.

Only a few of us actually do the bolting. You don’t need to hang on ropes with a drill to help. Just chip in for bolts, anchors, glue, and bits—we’ll handle the rest.

FAQ

— How much does one route cost?
A 20-meter route costs about 70,000 KZT (≈120 €). That’s just consumables: glue, bolts, drill bits. I don’t count my time, food, or fuel.

— I don’t have much money. Is a small donation worth it?
Absolutely. Big totals come from small amounts. If 100 people send 1,000 KZT, that’s already 100,000—just about enough for a couple of short routes.

— I’ve got money. How much should I send?
Pay for a route. Or a whole sector of ten.

— How will I know where the money went?
You won’t. Sometimes I source gear in roundabout ways, sometimes I just buy it in a shop. I don’t track it publicly. The best proof is simple: new routes show up every year.

— Can I sponsor a route—name it after my company / partner / cat—and pick the grade?
No. I don’t work well with constraints. Maybe this season calls for easier routes, but I’ve got a request for something hard—it doesn’t line up. If you’re not ready to donate with no strings attached, better skip it.

— I want to come help with bolting!
I almost always need help building platforms or cleaning loose rock and lichen. If you want in, message me on Telegram.

— Does the federation support you?
Let’s not go there. We fund it ourselves, build it ourselves, climb it ourselves. Let’s keep it that way.

Send money for new routes. Because if not you—who?
